I’m Leslie Ann Costello and I am happy you are here. Welcome.
When people are in transition, the old road maps don’t work. Patterns of behaviour that used to work well now fail to keep you in your comfortable place. Transitions offer tremendous opportunities for you to deepen and grow, but it can be very hard to do that all by yourself. I can help.
I’m a body-oriented psychotherapist, with a special interest in mothers and motherhood. I did my graduate work at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, obtaining a Master’s in school psychology (1988) and a Ph. D. degree in applied developmental psychology (1992), with emphasis on infant development and mother-infant interaction. I have worked in healthcare and academic institutions in the US.
I’m trained in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Circle of Security-Parenting, and I have completed Advanced Training for clinicians at the Postpartum Stress Center. I have offered training in bioenergetic analysis, attachment, postpartum therapy, and general maternal mental health for non-psychotherapist professionals. I love professional training and development, particularly creating learning experiences that support people where they are and help them to grow.
I am a Certified Bioenergetic Therapist (CBT), and Local Trainer with the Atlantic Canada Society for Bioenergetic Analysis (ACSBA). I am trained in EMDR therapy for trauma and for perinatal trauma. I have certification from Postpartum Support International as a perinatal psychotherapist (PMH-C), and I am a licensed psychologist in New Brunswick, CPNB #462.
